Cosmetic Dentistry Team Makes a Stand Against Breast Cancer.

On Saturday, April 18, 2009, Dr. Mike Hopkins, family members, and dental team members participated in Tommy Duff's "D Cup" Race, an event benefitting the Mary Kay Ash Foundation. They formed the "Perfect Set" Team.

The day's events included a two mile walk and "Cooler Races". All together, over $8,000 was raised. Our team had fun "competing", and were happy to help out for a good cause. In 2004, Dr. Hopkins lost his wife to Breast Cancer, making this a cause close to his heart.

Some fun shots of the day:

Our Team: Bryan R., Dr. Mike, Roger M., Sandy O., Lois D., Amy R. and Dr. Mike's grandchildren Evan and Vanessa.

Our Team Logo and T-Shirts.

Dunedin Cosmetic Dentist Excited to Introduce Latisse for Eyelashes!

So I've never been a mascara user, obviously. I have occasionally looked at my eyes as I've aged and wished my eyelashes hadn't disappeared. Anyhow, our Allergan rep contacted us several weeks ago to tell us all about a new product they were launching, called Latisse.
As well as producing Botox and Juvederm, Allergan holds the patents on several other medicines, one of which is Lumigan. Lumigan is a drug used for glaucoma patients. Much like with Botox, which was originally for opthamologic use, Lumigan patients were noticing a very interesting side effect: they were growing fabulous eye lashes!
Allergan at once began an in depth study, and developed Latisse, a once daily topical medicine that will darken, lengthen and thicken your eyelashes! The girls in my office went wild, as apparently mascara is very expensive and you have to replace it often or get cooties. Latisse is affordable for everyone, and available only through doctors. I am personally using myself as a guniea pig.
If you're interested, call my office at 727.733.1175 or visit us on the web at www.allaboutsmiles.org. We'd be glad to offer you a free cosmetic consultation! See you soon!

Dunedin Dental Office Talks About Periodontal Disease and Arestin

Periodontal Disease is a growing concern in the medical community. Clinically, one out of every three people have some form of periodontal disease. New research is showing systemic links between periodontal disease and heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy complications and other serious health issues.

Periodontal Disease is an active infection in the gums. Once this infection is contracted, there is no cure for it, the best a patient can hope to do is control it. Regular maintenance visits to your hygienist and a strict home care regiment have been the prescription... up until now.

Hopkins Aesthetic & Reconstructive Dentistry is pleased to announce the addition of Arestin to our practice. Arestin is an antibiotic that is placed directly into the infection site. It will stay in that site and fight the infection for up to 21 days. Arestin is clinically proven to reduce pocket depth in teeth affected by periodontal disease.

Many insurance companies will pay for this vital antibiotic. If you suffer from periodontal disease, call our office or visit our website for more information. 727.733.1175 or www.allaboutsmiles.org
